Wellness Week

This spring, we collaborated with other student boards across the University of Minnesota to celebrate Wellness Week! We worked together to plan a variety of events during week for students to learn about mental health and wellness resources and participate in wellness activities. The CBS Student Board specifically worked with CSE Student Board to plan a restorative yoga and pilates class with food catered from the local restaurant Walley’s.

The Social Liberation and Belonging Committee is excited to launch its first podcast episode of Breaking Boundaries! This podcast aims to bring normalcy and acknowledgment to the experiences of our POC and historically marginalized communities on campus. Check it out on Spotify using the link below to hear from students and community members and learn more about campus/community resources.

BioMentors

This semester, our new Outreach Committee has been partnering with local schools to create a mentorship program called BioMentors that connects CBS and local Twin-Cities high school students. The goal of the program is to help high schoolers learn more about what it’s like to be a college student studying the biological sciences and encourage students to pursue an education in STEM. Interested in serving as a mentor? Fill out the interest form linked below!

Research Toolkit

Our Research Committee has been working on a comprehensive Research Toolkit, a website intended to serve undergraduates who are interested in getting involved doing research in the life sciences. By students, and for students, this toolkit complies resources and information to facilitate your involvement in research!

Keep an eye out for the published website, coming Spring of 2024!

While it is our last semester running the program, we look forward to its continued growth and success of bringing CBS students together and fostering community. Look out for the BioBuds’ signup for Spring 2024!
